What it is

High-Resolution Imaging brings the mudlogger’s field examination into a climate-controlled lab, combining broad-spectrum white light and short-wavelength UV illumination at up to 100× magnification for exceptional contrast and pore-scale detail of cuttings and core.

It resolves color, lithology, grain size, sorting, mineralogy, porosity type, texture, fabric, and fractures, and sharpens the read on hydrocarbon presence, distribution, and quality. Paired with the gas and elemental datasets, it gives reservoir, operations, and completions teams a single visual record to interpret a well from.

  • 100× WL + UV
  • Up to 500/day
  • Pore-scale
Capabilities

What it does.

White light + UV to 100×

Broad-spectrum white light and short-wavelength UV illumination at up to 100× magnification, imaged wet or dry.

Pore-scale characterization

Color, lithology, grain size, sorting, mineralogy, porosity type, texture, fabric, and fracture networks.

Hydrocarbon discernment

UV fluorescence sharpens the read on hydrocarbon presence, distribution, and quality (API).

Organic matter & maturity

Observe solid organic matter content and quality, including vitrinite reflectance (Ro).

Pairs with your data

WL/UV imagery sits alongside the gas and elemental datasets for one interpretation workflow.

Well-to-well correlation

Standardized processing gives a consistent, long-term visual stratigraphic record across wells.
